Thinking of visiting LifePoint, but not sure what to expect? We realize that visiting a new church can be a little intimidating, so here are some answers to frequently asked questions.

How Do I Get To LifePoint?
LifePoint is conveniently located just one mile from Haywood Mall in Greenville. Click here for turn-by-turn directions and detailed maps.

What Time Do Your Services Start?
We meet every Sunday morning at 10:00 and at various times throughout the week for Bible studies, prayer and other fellowship opportunities. To see a list of our gathering times, click here.

Where Will My Children Go During The Service?
Your children will love LifePoint. We provide fun, hands-on Bible lessons and activities every Sunday morning designed especially to help them learn the truths of the Bible. We also provide a safe, cozy nursery for the little ones. Your children will not be in a separate building from you, so it is just a short walk down the hallway to check on them any time you need to. Our children's ministry leaders are parents just like you who value every child and treat them with the utmost care and attention.

Will I Have To Stand Up In Front Of People?
No. While the people at LifePoint are genuinely interested in getting to know you, we will never call on you or embarrass you in any way. You can relax and enjoy the music, message, and meeting new people.

Will You Ask Me For Money?
No. Actually, we don’t even pass an offering plate at LifePoint. It is true that the Bible clearly instructs believers to give joyfully in order to support the advancement of the gospel through the church, but we feel that passing an offering plate often puts people on the spot and makes this act of worship more of a “public” event than it needs to be. Instead, we have an box in the auditorium where people can privately place their offering.

Do I Have to Dress Up?
Not unless you want to. We encourage people to dress comfortably. For some, that may mean dressing up, but for most it simply means wearing casual clothes. Contrary to church tradition, the New Testament clearly teaches us that the church building is not the "house of God." It is simply a building. The New Testament tells us to dress modestly and decently so we do not become a distraction or burden people unnecessarily by requiring them to dress up in fancy clothes they do not normally wear just to "go to church." Wherever we go, we are God's house, so there is no need to put on special clothes on Sunday when the church gathers together.

Will I Get Yelled At From The Pulpit?
No, you will not. No one likes to be yelled at. We believe that all people should be treated with respect and that the message of the Gospel is one that is encouraging and challenging in itself. We are not interested in shaming or heaping guilt on anyone. However we do know that the Bible has an amazing way of speaking to the brightest and darkest parts of our lives. At LifePoint, it is our sincere desire to preach the entire Bible in all its truth without watering anything down, but to do it in love, and in ways that are interesting and relevant to your daily life. The overarching theme of the entire Bible is that we are separated from God through sin, yet He really does love us! He loves us so much that He sent His own precious Son, Jesus to pay the price for our sin and reunite us with Him. But why not find out for yourself? What Kind Of Music Do You Have?
The short answer is – all kinds! Music is simply a tool that allows us to worship God in a musical way. In its basic form, music is the combination of tonal frequencies and math. It is the words that make it special and appropriate for worship. Worship is primarily a matter of giving our hearts to God – whether it be expressed through music or our daily lives. So while we use many styles of music, we take care to make sure that our music serves as a catalyst to worship, not a distraction. What is most important is that our worship is not about us. It is about Him. It is about coming together as a church, laying down our personal preferences and lifting our gaze and voices in unified worship toward our Heavenly Father. We believe this pleases God. (To hear a sermon series we presented on this topic, you might enjoy listening to Truth or Tradition - Part 1 & Part 2.)

What Denomination is LifePoint?
LifePoint is not affiliated with any denomination. We are a local Christian church that believes in the message of the Bible - that there is hope and salvation in Jesus Christ alone. While there are many denominations reaching the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ, as we understand the Scriptures, God set into place one church; without division. More important than a group affiliation is what the group believes. It is what we believe to be true that ultimately influences our lives and the lives of others. At LifePoint, we stand firmly upon the Bible as our foundation and guide for all we do as a church. We teach the truths of the Bible with love and respect, and without apology. You will find LifePoint to be a very friendly church where there is freedom, yet with order and without extra-biblical rules. You may be interested in reading Beliefs We're Committed To. Is "Speaking in Tongues" Practiced at LifePoint?
We believe that the Scriptures encourage us to be more concerned about the "fruit of the Spirit" (love, joy peace, patience, kindness, etc. Galatians 5:22) than the "gifts of the Spirit." LifePoint Church is not what is commonly referred to as a "charismatic church." As we understand the Scriptures, we believe that speaking in tongues is the supernatural gift to speak in a foreign (but known) language - not unintelligible speech. We believe this gift was given primarily to spread the gospel in the early church, although we believe God could do so again if He chooses. Although many sincere Christians perhaps may measure their faith (and God) by what "sign gift" is being manifested (tongues, etc.), we believe that the greatest miracle or "move of God" is the day-to-day life-change that takes place in those who humbly devote themselves to loving Christ and others. For a full explanation of this issue, you may find it helpful to listen to a sermon we presented entitled, Tongues - What the Bible Really Says.
